BioConnect Identity Platform uses 2 dedicated ports upon installation to communicate over the network. These ports are 8000 and 8001. (If these 2 ports are being used for any other program, BioConnect services will not run.)
Below are 2 ways to identify if you are having a Port conflict with BioConnect services:
Method 1
1)Manual start each BioConnect service in the [Services] of your computer
2)Go to [Resource Monitor] and select the [Network] tab, then select the drop down menu for [Listening Ports] and scroll down until you see the ports [8000] and [8001]
3)You should see the following:
•[Entertech.BiometricService.exe] under Image column
•[8000] and [8001] under Port column
•[Allowed, not restricted] under Firewall Status column
Method 2
Manual start the following 2 services:
•BioConnect log Server host
•BioConnect Service Manager host
Let the console run and closely look for the error in RED below:
FAULT ERROR
There is already a listener on IP endpoint 0.0.0.0:8000. This could happen if you have another application already listening on the endpoint or if you have multiple service endpoints in your service host with the same IP endpoint but with incompatible binding configurations.
SOLUTION
If you are experiencing any of these 2 above examples you must allow port 8000 and 8001 free for BioConnect to operate.
