- SQL Server
Download BioStar Server onto the PC you wish to use as a server. SQL Server is typically stored on the same machine as the BioStar Server.
The server computer should be continuously running in order to take advantage of BioStar’s server matching capabilities.
The BioStar Client can be downloaded on any PC, including the server. You can download the Client on up to 32 different computers with BioStar SE.
Network your Suprema Readers
Referencing the user guide and installation instructions of each device (found on the installation CD), network the readers to your local switch/hub, router or directly into the network jack of your computer.
All of the devices are set to DHCP by default. If your switch is not capable of giving out a DHCP lease, then you can manually set the IP’s of each reader and search for them directly.
Some readers will allow you to do this directly from the device interface. For devices with no screen interface, please consult your user guide on how to statically set the default address of 192.168.0.1
In order to add your device into BioStar, select the Device Tab and click on Add a Device.
