Server matching is a key component of the performance of your Suprema System. It allows for the readers to match and verify against the biometric templates of the central database instead of the devices local memory. In some cases, the device local memory only stores two templates – generally reserved for a back up plan in the event the server is offline. Server matching can increase the performance and user success rate with your Suprema System.
Within BioStar you are able to enroll 10 biometric templates per user. When server matching is off, only the first two templates get pushed down to the reader. When server matching is on, the system is able to match against all ten templates.
Verify Edition of BioStar
In order to enable server matching, you will need the Standard Edition (SE), also known as the full version of BioStar. You can check within BioStar if you have this version by selecting Help à About BioStar. If you do not see “Standard Edition”, confirm that you have purchased the full version of BioStar. It could come in the form of a USB Dongle or an Enterprise License Code.
Set Device into Server Mode
The devices must be set into “Server Mode” in order to enable server matching. Go to the network tab and specify your unique BioStar Server IP Address.
Enable Server Matching
In the device tab, select the device and choose “Fingerprint”. This will allow you to enable or disable server matching. Choose Enable and click Apply.
