A common problem on start up of BioConnect occurs when the services have yet to be started or licensing was not applied to the installation correctly.
When you try to open up the BioConnect client application you may get an error message that looks like:
Where do we start to trouble shoot this error?
1. Begin by opening up services on the server (see below)
2. If you were using BioStar 2 to configure anything on the device previously before running BioConnect it is important to know that you will have to stop BioStar 2 services because both BioConnect and BioStar 2 use the server port of 51212
3. Ensure that the "Logging Server" & "Service Manager" services are started this should look like below:
4. Try starting the services by navigating to "search" and typing in "Start Services" -it will look like below:
-Once you click on "Start Services" a console window will appear showing the status of the services starting (see below)
-Once the window closes you will be able to search BioConnect and "click" to run the client application (below)
-It should now launch the application (see below)
-Click on one of the icons "Quick Enrollment", "User Management", "Device Management" and you will be prompted to login to the software.
-The "default" or "root login" is Login: Entertech, Password: Bobcat.
*It is important to note that you will not be able to enrol any users from the "default" / "root login" you will have to create an administrator under one of the user profiles within the software to do this (please consult: ****insert link/doc****) to see how to do this
